33 RECYCLING: PENNY WISE — POUND FOOLISH The recycling of orthodontic attachments is problematic. The original use of the attachment, its removal from the tooth, and the recycling process all impart irreparable damage. This damage compromises the attachment’s ability to provide precision tooth control which costs the practice far more than the attachment is worth.
